Dominica - what's next!

So the party fever has gone...so now what's next!

Christmas will be here soon and all the fun things we love during that time. Here in Dominica we love the home/family times. We spend time with our families and are invited to each other's houses to have more food and drinks. I truly believe this is a time that we gain lots of weight. But it is a good time to see everyone.

With so many good foods to choose from - who wouldn't gain a pound or two. Fruit cake (black cake), ginger beer (non-alcoholic), sorrel juice, baked ham, turkey, egg nog (Shodow) and the list goes on. Let us know what Christmas foods you enjoy and which ones you miss the most because you can't make it yourself. Share with us...

But now let's have a look-back at some of the events which took place during our Independence Season http://www.dominica.dm/site/culture.cfm.

Lots of photos (compliments Images Dominica) and lots of fun so ensure you join us next year!

What's Happening in Dominica!

There is so much to talk about!

So let's start with this weekend - Friday October 23rd - Ophelia's 30th Anniversary Concert at Krazy Kokonuts http://www.wcmfdominica.com/events/entry/Ophelia-30th-Anniversary-Concert. There will be great songs from the past and new releases.

Saturday October 24th - Red River Jamboree http://www.wcmfdominica.com/events/entry/Digicel-Red-River-Jamboree-2009-08-27. Which will include fun and activities for the entire family - river tubing, food, drinks and more...

So no excuse or reason not to find something to do this weekend. A relaxing River outing and a night filled with great music by the Lady of song.

Still want something else to do? Sunday October 25th is Heritage Day in Giraudel / Eggleston. This is the time to see what our heritage entails - exhibition (flowers, vegetables, fruits, artifacts), cultural performances, food, drinks, music...and the list goes on!
Choose one or come to all! The Nature Island will be showcasing its culture and heritage.

Also let's be patriotic and support Flag Day tomorrow Friday October 23rd. So place a flag on your vehicles or even on your desks at work.

Lots more to enjoy in Dominica during our Independence Celebrations. Let us hear what you think about the activities. It is the 31st Anniversary of Independence http://www.dominica.dm/site/independence.cfm Come celebrate with us!!

See you next time...
